Sorry that I have been a bit absentee lately, just super busy at work these days. And now the boyfriend and I have a friend staying with us this weekend and I didn't bring my computer...so, I decided this calls for a quick inspiration post! Don't worry though-be back with outfit photos tomorrow!
Working on a second "My Fashionable Friends" post got me thinking about what inspires me most. It can be a number of things but I especially love to take inspiration from what is called "street style." Street Style is a relatively new phenomenon thanks to the rate at which technology is progressing. One of my favorite websites for street style inspiration is called Chictopia. Here are some of my favorites:
These first 2 show how to pull of the monochromatic look by varying shades of the same color:
I love the sparkly bustier peeking out and her over-sized clutch (not to mention the color combo):
Floral shorts? Check! Cute bow-turban? Check! Socks with peep-toes? Check!
The turquoise and orange combo is brilliant and check out how she changed the look from maxi dress to maxi skirt by tying her shirt:
Always clad in vintage, she shows how to pull off the crop-top trend...with a high-waist skirt!
Not only is this photo gorgeous, she is really making me crave a fruit print and bright clutch:
Another fun website I recently stumbled upon is called Everybody Everywear. It also showcases street style photos but this site focuses in on one trend per month and bloggers are able to upload their version of that trend-this past one was yellow. What I like about this site is that is features real people (who look a little less like models than those you'll see on Chictopia). I plan to submit a look of my own to this month's upcoming trend: thrift edition! Woohoo since my entire wardrobe is thrifted/consignment-store finds! I'll keep you posted!
