My Fashionable Friends: Camber

For the second installment of "My Fashionable Friends" I'm focusing on Camber, my best friend, coworker, and partner in crime fashion.  Here she is in 3 sets of outfits that summarize her style and a little Q&A about her tastes and fashion choices:

A: How would you describe your style?
C: Classic with eclectic accent pieces, also vintage inspired.

Lucky Brand shorts - FC ($12)
Banana Republic tank - on sale
Armani Exchange jacket - FC (clearance, $2)
Nine West wedges - FC ($10)
Necklace - handmade using vintage key

A: What are some of your favorite brands/designers/places to shop?
C: Because I work at the best consignment shop in town, I find it very difficult to shop anywhere else. Plus I am so spoiled by our prices! Other favorite shops would include A Second Time Around Consignment/Vintage, the Bargain Box, Gap, Banana Republic, and J Crew. Some favorite brands include, but are not limited to Lucky, Seven for All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Free People, and Ann Taylor.

A: If you had to narrow it down, which 3 items could you not live without? or Which 3 items are the key pieces/must-haves of your wardrobe?
C: My dark wash straight leg Citizens jeans, my mom’s peasant blouse from high school, and an empire waist maxi dress for days when I don’t want to shave my legs or suck in my stomach.

Tracy Feath skirt - FC ($7.50)
Vintage blouse - from her Mom
Steve Madden wedges - FC ($12)
Vintage Dooney & Bourke purse - FC ($30)

A: What will you be living in this summer season?
C: Rolled cuff shorts, light wash deconstructed jeans, barely there sundresses, no bra required tops, and my bathing suit, of course!

A: What is the one accessory or piece of clothing you can never buy enough of?
C: Dresses!!! I wear dresses almost exclusively in the summer and to work. It’s like wearing sweatpants, only you look way cuter!

A: Who would you say is/are your style inspiration/s?
C: No one person is my inspiration, but I do admire the stylish musings of Jennifer Aniston (or at least that of her stylist). I am also inspired by decades and archetypes. For instance, right now I am really feeling the 70’s with flowing maxi dresses and high-waisted shorts and skirts.

Vintage dress - gifted from a friend
Gap sandals - on sale
Necklace - FC ($6)

A: Which trend will you try this summer/which trend will you definitely not try?
C: Completely shredded jeans, or jeans that have worn through just below the bum. Please ladies.

A: What could you use more of in your wardrobe?
C: Skirts. But the way I see it, if I’m going to wear a skirt, I might as well wear a dress. It’s easier and doesn’t ride up the way some skirts do.

A: What's one fun, random fact about you?
C: I am named after a car part.

So there are the 3 different looks that epitomize Camber's (summer) style!  If you liked her outfits as much as I do here are the key pieces you'll need to re-create them (all $49.99 or less):

Camber and I had a lot of fun taking these pictures in her backyard.  In the last you can see her eating a fresh tomato right out of their vegetable garden - how cool!  Did you like Camber's outfits?  Which was your favorite??  Let me know in the comments section!

I hope you enjoyed this segment of "My Fashionable Friends" as it showcases a unique and different style than what you might see here from me while still showing how to look fabulous on a budget!!!

Camber is looking so cute and tan. I love her in her mom's peasant blouse. Makes me wish I had kept one of mine.

I loved it all, of course, I'm her mom!!! But, seriously, I love the format, the photography and the captions. I have to say my favorite outfit is the Tracey Feath skirt, vintage blouse (mine!) and the Steve Madden wedge sandles. Also, love the vintage maxi dress!
