Thrifty Thursday

Quick post because I've got a lot on my plate right now (read: dinner to attempt to cook)!

I'm doing this post now so that I can participate in EverybodyEverywear's fashion challenge.  Remember I mentioned this site in my previous StreetStyle Inspiration post?  I like this site because it is a compilation of your average, ordinary bloggers.  Since the majority of successful blogs look like professional models/photographers, it's really refreshing to see the everyday people...in my opinion.

Anyway, this month's challenge, or theme, is thrift!  Woohoo, right?  Technically they are lumping consignment shops and thrift stores together for this one but since my entire wardrobe is just that I went with strictly thrift so as to create more of a challenge for myself!
Skirt - thrifted ($3)
Top - thrifted ($2)
Frye wedges - FC ($22)
Vintage belt - FC ($5)
If these pieces look vaguely familiar, they should!  I showed you what Mom, Sis and I got at Carolina Thrift in this post...well, this is the top and skirt I "thrifted" put together!  I'm actually not really crazy about the combination.  I wore this skirt with a black top on a separate occasion and was much more pleased with that look.  But this outfit packs double the thrift punch (and not to mention my wedges and belt were consignment store purchases).

This photo from the Marc Jacobs resort collection instantly reminded me of this thrifted skirt...I'll show you soon how I wear it with black to create an outfit that more closely resembles this fabulous dress:

So, what's your favorite thrift store purchase?  Head on over to Everybody Everywear and let me know if you see my look!  And let me know if you post your own too!!!

That skirt is gorgeous! I am a huge fan of thrifting and every Thursday I host a thrifting photo link up on my blog. You definitely get to see what real people wear. I'd love it if you'd join in sometime!

I love that marc jacobs resort collection, and the skirt was such a nice find! How luck you work in a consignment shop and get first dibs on all the best stuff!

I posted my look with my Red Shoes as the spotlight on EBEW. I LOVE the look you put together. I am obsessed with midi-skirts right now because I love the length and they make me look taller when I wear heels with them. (Better than a maxi for me). Lovin' your look! Cheers (PS - I am a new follower, too!)

I saw a skirt just like this the other day in a thrift store and debated trying it on. Now I wish I had taken the time. This is perfectly paired with the white top and belt. - Katy
