Orange Sherbet

I showed you one of my go-to "formulas" for transitional weather last time and I thought I'd share another one today since the cold front has been hanging around all weekend.
J. Jill sweater - thrifted w/Mom ($3)
New H&M shorts - FC ($10)
Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo heels - FC ($12)
Vintage purse - FC ($10)
Lucky Brand necklace, handmade wrap bracelet

I love slouchy sweaters!  I've been slowly adding to my collection so I was happy the weather was cool enough to wear them this weekend.  This one was another item I got while thrifting with Mom when I went home to visit.  Sweater + shorts is another great Fall formula; you can add tights and boots as the weather gets even cooler.  The proportions balance out showing just enough skin and they keep you warm yet cool for transitional temperatures.  Missed my previous favorite Fall formula?  Check it out here.

I've been dying to try out the monochromatic look using different shades of the same general color.  I thought the peachy sherbet sweater looked great against the warm brown shorts and I added some pops of orange in the purse and necklace.  I kept my accessories simple to complement the color palette.  Next time I hope to go even more color!

Get inspired by J. Crew's monochromatic looks from the Fall 2011 collection (my 3 fav):

LOVE this slouchy sweater and how you paired it with shorts. This is a great monochromatic look outside of the normal black.
