August was one of my best month's so far...in terms of actually finding items on the wishlist. I brought a ton of color into my wardrobe, some I've already been posting but there's even more to come, I already posted about the awesome bow-tie blouse I got, and I recently bought a polka dot blouse (pictures to come!). In addition to crossing items off of August's wishlist, I scored a button-down shirt-dress at the Goodwill with Mom - that was from July's wishlist! Let's hope I have the same luck this month...
September is all about transitioning here on the NC coastline. Here's what's on my wishlist this month:
1. The Slim Trouser or "Cigarette Pants"

2. The silky "Equipment Blouse"
Lightweight blouses are perfect for Fall and the "equipment" or "utility" style just means it has a front pocket or two. Even better if it's sheer and/or 70-inspired! They look perfect tucked into high waist pencil and midi skirts as well as this season's bell-bottoms for a boho vibe.

3. The Mod-Style Mini Shift Dress
It looks like all the 60s and 70s inspiration we have seen in the recent lookbooks and runway shows is here to stay. Banana Republic jumped on the early-60s train with their Mad Men Collection but according to fashionising.com we will be seeing a lot more of the late-60s inspiration. Mini shift dresses are the perfect transitional wear: flats, heels or little booties while the weather is still warm; switch to tights, knee-highs and layer a turtle-neck underneath or cardigan on top and you're set for cooler temperatures!

In addition to mod 60s styles, fashionising.com sited oriental inspiration as another trend this Fall. The obi belt is the perfect way to ease into this far-eastern look. When I first saw this style of belt in Gucci's SS 2011 collection, I fell in love...perfect to dress up a simple dress or anything that needs some waist definition.

5. The High-Heeled Oxford/Loafer
According to Refinery29 this is the shoe of the season. And why not? It combines the menswear trend with a feminine twist to create a totally new look. Lace up, tassels, or just the penny-loafer style, I personally like the added height and think they will look perfect paired with ankle-cropped cigarette pants (#1 above) or an A-line skirt.

Stay tuned to see what I can find and at what price! I'll also be showing all the ways I'm wearing my recent purchases of previous wishlist items...

Wow! I want everything on your wishlist!! You make me want to work on a wishlist myself!
P.S.
Thanks for featuring my little sister. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you but since we're really petite, we tend to buy boy's trousers!! They are the perfect fit for that mid ankle look for this season! Hopefully you will come across the perfect pair for yourself! Good luck!! :)
Cup of Fashion
I love cigarette pants! Although, considering how short I am, they probably won't be cropped. Just perfect length. Hee hee.
Also, you mislabeled Oliva Palermo as Whitney Port. Its kind of sad that I know that.
i love the look of the obi belt and it's definitely on my wishlist!! you have some great picks for the fall season!
